Why travel with Legato Tours?

Legato Tours is run by professional musicians, each with many years touring experience.  In the time Legato Tours has been in operation we have built up an impressive list of musical contacts in the host countries, only offering tours to you once we are fully happy with the level of our contacts and this for example is why we have waited until 2008 to offer France as a destination, despite many requests. The quality of our partners and their contacts within the country we believe is crucial.  We spend much time building up and cultivating our partners who are all either professional musicians or concert promoters in their own country and are therefore able to access venues and festivals that otherwise would not be possible.  We do not work with travel agents in host countries.  Our ever growing list of clients is testimony to the quality of our tours.  References are available on request.

Venues.  We seek out the best venues for your group.  What really makes Legato Tours different is that we PERSONALLY inspect every venue before adding it to our list.  This is the only way that we can be really sure of our quality.  We have on file literally hundreds of venues, mostly with photographs and other information such as acoustics, performing area dimensions, lighting, changing facilities, road access, etc.

Promotion.  We fully promote your concerts of course.  This does not just include putting up a few optimistic posters but local radio and TV, articles in local newspapers, etc.  For this to be really successful we need your help.  We will ask you for a “press pack”.  This will include biographies and photographs of the group and conductor together with as much repertoire as possible.  As you see many of our concerts are as part of festivals.  This helps maximise the audience.  Many of these festivals, especially in Germany go to press extremely early (normally September or October for the following summer) and therefore it is advisable to make your tour choices (including repertoire wherever possible) as early as possible.

Planning.  We really do like to meet you and your group.  To us this is worth many phone calls!  Getting to know your group and your requirements is the key to a really successful tour so it is our policy to visit you in the early stages of planning.

Accommodation.  Like our venues, all our hotels are visited by ourselves to ensure the location and quality is what you would expect.  Normally we choose mid range hotels (3*) and have some very good prices for these hotels.  We do however have some budget accommodation.  Please request details.

New Tours.  We are constantly researching new tours.  All new tours are researched personally by our staff: all venues checked, all hotels visited.  If your favoured venue is not on this site, it doesn’t mean we can’t accommodate you!
